This privacy statement discloses my information gathering and dissemination practices. 1. Cookies:

Cookies aren't used at privateline.com. Cookies are small text files sent by a web site to your computer's hard drive. Many companies do set cookies to provide features or personalize a "web site experience." But I don't do that and you won't receive cookies from this site. Here's the problem. Nearly every site I link to seems to set cookies. Sorry about that but I can't control this cookie mania. The situation won't be getting better.

3. Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under my control. Specifically, the computers and servers running this site are maintained in locked facilities under 24 hour a day control by myself and the people who actually host the site. No one else has access to these computers, either in person or through the web.

4. No spam policy

I do not sell, lease, rent, or otherwise give away your e-mail address to anyone or any company. Period. I might send an occasional e-mail regarding the site but you can always opt out now or opt out later in our future e-mails. Type something like "Take me off this list" when you reply to any unsolicited e-mail from me. Again, this will be a rare occurrence, if it happens at all.

8. Web statistics

 

I have used a free service called Hitbox.com to develop statistics for this site. I am now ending my relation with them. They tracked visitors, sort of, but not individuals. I knew that someone from AOL or Earthlink had visited, for example, their domain, but I never knew who that person was or their machine number. Individual people are not tracked at this site.
