I have this telephone collectible and
. . .
I get the same questions, framed a little differently, about
many telephone collectibles. They go like this:
"I have a telephone collectible and
- 1) I want to know what it is worth,
- 2) I want to know more about it,
- 3) I want to sell it, or
- 4) I want to know what people might be interested in it.
Four good reasons to go to e-bay.com. Telephone enthusiasts
and collectors, individuals, companies, and telephone museums
alike, all watch ebay.com carefully for telephone and radio collectibles.
Enter "Bell System" or "cell phone" into
their search engine to be amazed at how much is offered and what
you can learn. Often you can e-mail collectors directly to find
out about your item, without having to put it up for sale. But
e-bay requires you to register to have other people's e-mail
addresses revealed. While this registration takes longer than
many sites, millions upon millions of people have put up with
it, including myself. And it clears the way for you to sell your
item later on. E-bay is a great resource, just remember to come
back to telecomwriting.com!

Oh, there are some different ways to use ebay.com. I collect
images of equipment, mostly of radio telephones, from people
selling their items. It's a good way to come up with a photo
gallery. I've also had sellers photograph or do scans for me
of equipment I'd like to see better but have no wish to buy.
The seller benefits because they make some extra money on top
of what they sell the item for. And I win because I get copyright
free images that I can use. Much pHun.
